Sundance 11

I had the cool opportunity to work with Canon Cameras and my SIL Kallie for a few days at the Sundance Film Festival.  We helped Canon promote their workshops and film "The Story Behind The Still."  The film/contest was a pretty cool and innovative idea. We also helped promote iheartradio

Canon put us up at the Zermatt Resort for the weekend, and we took full advantage it! And of course, Kallie and her friends/connections got us in at the Bing Bar where we rubbed shoulder with Ryan Seacrest (tiny little man), Liv Tyler, Ross the intern (Jay Leno Show) and a musical performance by Janelle Monae (95 pounds of energy... and beauty. See here).

The Girls!

Gotta love the "star gazers" walking around snapping at pictures of celebrities (I'll admit, I do it too).  Half the people I asked who the celebrity was said they didn't know... they were just talking pictures of people others were!

NYC: saturday 10/2

to celebrate my day of birth, we set-off to time square in hopes to win lottery tickets to west side story. it must have been birthday luck, cause we both won tickets! the show and choreography was fantastic. glad we got to see it before it leaves broadway in january

we took pictures of the city, shopped 5th ave, browsed through union square...

the subway was everything i expected it to be... dirty, funny, and full of characters. i don't think we rode on a train that didn't have someone singing, playing music, or simply begging for a buck!

grabbed a bite to eat in union square...

that night we rushed (literally... running through the streets in heels) back to nbc studios for saturday night live! they bumped us to floor seats; we were like giddy 14-year-old girls when they handed us our tickets. the experience was amazing. the actors read from cue cards the entire show and a herd of crew members disassembled each scene in 30 seconds flat! i loved seeing the behind the scenes of one of my all-time favorite shows. such a treat. oh, and morgan freeman walking into "what up with that" was a pleasant surprise too.

and yes, we made it on tv... scroll to [2:10] in the video below and you can briefly see me and marci behind the silver-painted actors (best part is marci has no idea she's on camera for that long...)

i could get used to a nyc birthday!

Me and the Rockettes

One of the perks of my job is I occasionally work with "famous" people.  I was lucky to be the producer for several promo spots we're doing with the Radio City Rockettes and their upcoming Christmas Spectacular (coming to Utah for the first time in November).

What do you think... could I pull it off?

the girls took over our news set...

my partners in crime...

They were so delightful and fun.  Reminded me of my dance days.
Thanks ladies!

famous faces

Top: Chris Waddell (paralympian), Governor Herbert, Kurt Bestor (musician)
Bottom: Derek Parra (speedskater), Carmen Rasmusen (singer)

The reason for me looking absolutely exhausted in all these photos...
... I've been working around the clock on a literacy video for the Ken Garff "Road to Success" Reading Program.

Sure was fun bumping into many famous faces!

Hello Pres. Monson

President Monson came into KSL today to record a special message for the upcoming Days of 47 Parade. I just so happened to bump into him when he arrived. I said, "President Monson, how are you?" He smiled, shook my hand and said, "Is this the way all the pretty girls go? I better go this way then." What a little flirt. Love that man:)

Famous

It was a big debut for Chase. What a natural. Don't be surprised if you see Hubby and I featured in a KSL Homes Commercial. {Not to mention his star-performance
in the Buy Direct Commercial}

"Shooting with the Stars"

Just wrapped-up a promotional shoot with Apolo Anton Ohno for the upcoming Samsung World Cup Short Track Speed Skating competition. Very nice guy. Short. Easy to talk to... and still a fan of Dancing with the Stars. I asked him if he keeps in contact with anyone from his season of the show, and he said, "Mostly my partner, Julianne." He commented, "She is such a talented girl." I would have to agree. Too bad I was a chicken to ask him to take a photo with me. I guess I didn't want to sound like a "crazy fan." Make sure to watch the season premiere of Dancing with the Stars tonight on ABC.

David: Up Close and Personal

David came... and I was up close to all the action. He's just a little guy. I had to really squat for my picture with him. But he sounded just as good today as he did on American Idol. Here are a few pics of his visit on Studio 5 today:

Thanks to my friend Kory at work, and with the help of photoshop, "Archie" and I are just chillin' at the main stage of American Idol! (The remaining photos are untouched and real:)

Archuleta's Coming To Visit...

So you thought the American Idol hype was over, right? Well, not here in Utah. With the auditions taking place on July 29th and the arrival of the two-day American Idol Tour stop, David Archuleta is stopping by my work tomorrow morning for his debut on Studio 5 at 11am... and I'm excited! Hopefully I can get an autograph or pic!

Jordin Sparks

Nothing beats a summer's night, a $12 ticket, popcorn and concert with sis! Jordin Sparks really put on a great show... she sure can belt it! Check out Allie's video clips here

Does Archuleta have what it takes...

Did Archie's trip home to Utah give him the boost (not that he needs it) to the finals? Guess we'll watch and see. Go David!

Sundance 08

It was a fun weekend up in Park City. Not only was the Sundance Film Festival in full swing, but we went to a private dinner with Picabo Street, with a live auction to raise awareness for Child Abuse Victims. Chase and I spent the night at the Zermatt Resort in Midway. Definitely a resort we need to go back and spend more time at. I love Utah... being in the mountains reminds me of how wonderfully diverse our state is. Chase and I vowed that next year we're going to make it a point to see some of the films featured in the festival. Although we didn't see BIG stars, we did see Giuliana DePandi Rancic, Bill Rancic, and Carmen Rasmussen to name a few!

"Stop and Stare"

Thanks to my cute cuz Taylor, my sister and I went to the One Republic concert Wednesday night. Not only did we get great seats, but we had a VIP dinner... all for FREE! I fell in love with One Republic when they sang "Apologize" on So You Think You Can Dance this summer. It was a great concert. Eric Hutchinson opened the group. I really liked his style. Overall, a great night of music.

A concert to remember...

So my cute husband surprised me with Josh Groban tickets on our one year anniversary. I really like his music, but I didn’t know what to expect at his concert. My parents got tickets as well, so we made it a date. Our seats were decent… 10th row aisle seats on the lower bowl side. My parents were just above us in a suite. So the concert began and Chase and were loving it. He sounded so great! Halfway through the concert, he walks off stage and one of his violinists does a solo. Next thing we know, people are looking up our row. At first we thought they were looking at us, but as we turned around, Josh was walking down our aisle! Out of the hundreds of aisles in the arena, he selected our row. So I stood there and watched him walk down the steps… closer and closer. Of course I’m freaking out and trying to snap a million shots (only 3 turned out). So as Josh is walking past me, I pat his shoulder and say something stupid like “Yeah Josh!” It was awesome! Chase was laughing at me because I acted like a little kid on Christmas morning. I looked up at my parents and they were freaking out. They watched the whole thing happen from afar. Overall, the concert was amazing. Josh truly is a talent and puts on a great concert. I would recommend his show to anyone.

So this is when Josh conveniently walked down our aisle and I touched his shoulder!

"STARS" and Stripes...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!

There's nothing like the 4th of July without the Kaysville City Parade
and Fireworks. My family went down to Provo for the Stadium of Fire... And we saw more than just stripes... we ran into some "STARS..."

I Love America!! ... and my new earrings (Chase isn't impressed)
