Tate turns 3... "Come Fly With Me" Party

Here's just a sampling of all the fun we had for Tate's airplane-themed third birthday.
We sent all his "passengers" boarding pass invitations.
Then, all of his cousins met us at the Hill Aerospace Museum.
They loved playing in the learning center, pretending to be pilots and astronauts, while learning a few science experiments from Mr. Unibrow.
Oh and don't forget the planes themselves.  So cool to see.

Later in the day, everyone came over for some cloud cupcakes, in-flights snacks, a paper airplane-making lesson and gifts!

Thank you everyone for celebrating Tatum's special day with us!

gingerbread houses and a nativity

we invited a few friends over for a little fhe gingerbread house-making party.
it was one of our advent calendar "must do's."
i opted to make a nativity instead this year (i fell in love with the idea here on pinterest).
it was fun making the animals and people this year, instead of focusing on a house.
as always, it was fun getting together, chatting, playing referee with the kids, and munching on way too much candy!

fireworks

You know the saying, "it gets better with age?"
This mama can truly attest.
Tate gets better and better with age.

Prime example: fireworks.
I couldn't stop laughing at him while we watched the firework show at Eaglewood.
Tate was yelling at every firework... "WOW!"  "Ooh!"  "Aah!" "Look Mom!"  "Loud!"  "Big!"
He was soooo excited about it all.

Seeing your child experience new and exciting things is one of the simple joys of parenthood.

Thanks for a fun night friends (Crosland's, Williams', and Smoot's)

Pinterest Party

If you're like me, and the millions of other pinners out there, you've seen many ideas you want to create on Pinterest... but can never seem to find the time to actually do it.  So my sister Allie and I decided to create a monthly Pinterest Party group.  The goal of  the party is to work on a "pinned" project and sample great recipes.

Our first party was a huge success.  The gals whipped up cute wreaths, topiaries, hair bows, paint chip garland, and cards... and the treats were delish too.  Can't wait for the party next month.
