advent calendar complete!

When I laid my eyes on this wooden beauty and the craft store, I just knew I had to get my hands on it and make a Christmas advent calendar that would last the test of time. After many trips to craft/scrapbook store, painting, embellishing, and toiling away at each little square drawer... it is finally complete (and hey, I'm only 6 days into December... not a total wash this year:)!  So far, it's a big hit with Tatum.

I filled each drawer with candy, but also with the following scripture references (found via here).

UT Amateur

My brother Matt played in the UT State Amateur tournament again this year, so my family and I decided to go watch and cheer him on.  It was a hot, but beautiful day at the Salt Lake Country Club.  Overall, he ended up placing in the middle of about 150 players.  Not bad.  We are so proud.

The Dirty Dash

My sis-in-law Sara roped me into doing The Dirty Dash this past weekend with her and her friends Sarah and Jacee.  What is the Dirty Dash you say?  It's a 5.5 mile "race" in the mud, with many obstacles along the way.  We got all dressed up for the occasion (that is half the fun).  I've never had so much fun running and getting filthy along the way!

Thanks for the laughs girls!

The BEFORE...

golfing date night

For Kris' birthday, we spent the evening golfing at Swan Lakes.  It was so fun driving the cart, placing bets, and trying our best not to lose a million golf balls.  It was a lot of fun (and I definitely want to take-up golfing someday).  Thanks Mark & Shell...

Pinterest Party

If you're like me, and the millions of other pinners out there, you've seen many ideas you want to create on Pinterest... but can never seem to find the time to actually do it.  So my sister Allie and I decided to create a monthly Pinterest Party group.  The goal of  the party is to work on a "pinned" project and sample great recipes.

Our first party was a huge success.  The gals whipped up cute wreaths, topiaries, hair bows, paint chip garland, and cards... and the treats were delish too.  Can't wait for the party next month.
