Texas {day 2}

Friday morning we toured the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing... this is where U.S. money is printed.  Of course security was tight (hence no pictures), but it was an interesting tour.  A few facts:
  • Currency paper is composed of 75% cotton and 25% linen, giving it great durability
  • The average life span of a $1 bill is 42 months; $5 bill is 16 months, a $20 bill is 24 months; $100 bill is 89 months
  • Check out the new design for the $100 bill {here}
  • The Bureau printed $32 million in $20 bills last month alone {see here}
After the tour, we hit up our favorite stop... Sam Moon, the wall-to-wall store of purses and jewelry! We're all going to miss that place. We then headed to the outlets for more shopping.  Just imagine running from store to store with a naughty toddler... not my idea of shopping!  I was exhausted at this point (and so were the babies), so we called it a day and packed up our loot to head back to the house.
